A Little Light Reading - Readers

Director of A Little Light Reading, Ann Chadwick has many years experience in theatre both on and off stage. Her community theatre projects include a production of The Wind in the Willows based in Daylesford but which toured to Trentham, Clunes and Creswick. Last year she coordinated the performance of On The Air as a part of Geelong After Dark. She worked as drama facilitator for Merrimu Services in Bacchus Marsh and in the Artlife Program at Footscray Community Arts Centre. With colaborator Peppa Sindar she formed Pendulum Productions which has toured 2 original productions Zelda and High Anxiety. Ann works as a Ghost Tour guide in various spooky locations in Melbourne

Ken Sheerin is a Geelong self-published author whose short stories and verse capture his early life in the region. His printed works range from verse and ballads, (Against all Odds) through to tanka, (KOI, the tanka of K J Sheerin) short story, (The Perfect Day) YA Sci-fi, (Sideshow Alley) YA Fantasy, (Myvanwy and the House of Dragon) plus two books in the Adult Sci-Fi genre, (Tula, Book one of the Rim Trader series, and now, Rhuma, book two in the series). His short stories have been aired on radio, (RPH and Pulse Radio) and short plays performed at the Potato Shed.
He also dabbles in scriptwriting for film, and does spoken word around the district

Richard Kakol is a poet and playwright. His work has appeared in various journals and anthologies. His radio plays *The Kafka Hotel*, *The Kafka Hotel Revisited*, *The Infinite Hotel* and *The Kafka Hotel Goes Forth* have been broadcast on the Vision Australia Radio network. He established the Frozen Sea Theatre
Company which has adapted for radio 'The Happy Prince' by Oscar Wilde and *The Importance of Being Oscar* by Micheal macLiammoir

Luke Murphy has been acting since he was six and half and writing plays since he was fourteen. The last performance he was involved with was Geelong REP’s Rumours and before that A Few Good Men with the same company. As a writer Luke, has composed music but has also published written work including the Corporatist Doctrine, The Child on the Moon, the Biographical Accounts of the Woman Tyrant [and two sequels], and has recently completed another children’s book called Unity Tree

Julie Maclean is the author of  Lips that Did (Dancing Girl Press, 2017), To Have To Follow (Indigo Dreams Publishing, 2016), Kiss of the Viking (Poetry Salzburg, 2014) and When I saw Jimi shortlisted for The Crashaw Prize (Salt) and joint winner of the Geoff Stevens Poetry Prize (Indigo Dreams, 2013). Alison Lewis-Nicholson has always found a great delight in words. She is a published academic author but is now trying her hand with fiction. Her first published piece is an extract in Freefall into Fiction (2017). Before deciding to focus on fiction Alison has had incarnations as a community clown, stand-up comic and actor (Play it Safe 2015). She has been part of a local community singing group for over a decade.

Ubaldino Mantelli has played major roles in the Geelong region. He trained in VCA’s Acting Studio. In January this year he performed in Malaysia with Tales of a City by the Sea (Drama Victoria awards, Green Room nomination) following the 2016 tour of Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. Ubaldino has roles in two upcoming shows this year at La Mama in Melbourne.
